PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Welcome and thank you for visiting the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) Tampa Bay Area Chapter. We are a group of public administrators from a variety of organizations and agencies that include local government, public commissions, private business and academic institutions. Our goal is to:
We hope you find our website both informative and easy to use. We're regularly adding new information about NFBPA, the Tampa Bay Area Chapter, leaders, members, programs and community initiatives ... so come back often! Dr. Cynthia Johnson
Fighting cancer is a team effort. The impact we can make together is much greater than what any of us could do alone. At the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, our team will camp out overnight and take turns walking around the track to raise money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society save more lives from cancer. By joining or donating to our team, you will be a part of a life-changing event that gives everyone in the community a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that takes too much. Please make a donation, or join our team and help us create a world where cancer can no longer claim another year of anyone’s life. COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY
NFBPA Tampa Bay Area Chapter will make a difference in someone’s life during Carefest, September 26th . What is Carefest? Somebody Cares Tampa Bay hosts a week of compassion-related activities culminating with a day of service, Saturday, September 20th, when volunteers mobilize to meet the practical needs of their neighbors in Tampa Bay. The City of St. Petersburg Neighborhood Partnership Department is facilitating the day of service and is working with various other departments such as Midtown Economic Development, Parks, Codes Compliance Assistance & N-Team, Sanitation, and Marketing to identify potential projects for the volunteers to embrace. Carefest 2009 is a collaboration of churches, ministries, agencies, neighborhood associations, professional organizations, businesses, individuals and families with a goal of lifting up our community. NFBPA Tampa Bay Area Chapter will serve others by painting homes, mowing and cleaning up yards, giving away food, visiting the sick, volunteering at your chosen non-profit and so much more. To get involved, please call NFBPA Tampa Area Community Service Committee Co-chair Theresa Jones (727)893-7357 or theresa.jones@stpete.org.
